Opening hours
Valencia has different opening hours. On the one hand, shopping centers and fashion franchises open from 10:00h to 22: 00h (this can change in some other establishments).
On the other hand, small shops are open from 10:00h to 14:00h. After a lunch break, it restarts its activity between 16:00 and 17:00h till 20:30h.
Lunch and dinner in Valencia
To have lunch in Valencia, you have to go to the restaurants between 13:00 and 16:00h and for dinner between 20:30h and midnight, and often, until 01:00h.
Cafes and bars usually open their doors from 07:00h – 08:00h until 23:00h without interruption, in some cases, until 01:00h, depending on the establishment.
Nightlife in Valencia
For partying in Valencia it is very easy. You have a lot of possibilities. On the one hand, you can enjoy the pubs until 03:30h and if you fell like continuing, following the closure of pubs, you can go to nightclubs that are open from 00:00h till 06:30h – 07: 00h.
Currency in Valencia
The euro replaced the peseta on January 1st 2002. Banks are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 till 14:00.
Commissions are appreciably variable from one bank to another. We suggest you do not change money in banks located near the monuments and places of interest. In almost every city, you’ll get easy money at ATMs with Eurocard, MasterCard or Visa. You will be charged a fee depending on your bank fees, when the transaction is made.
In general, you can pay with credit or debit cards in all business. In Spain tipping is not mandatory, but if you decide to do it after having courteous service, it is welcome. If you’re taking a bus, remember to bring some change, because you will pay it to the driver, and he can only make change from 5, sometimes 10 euros.
